{SuperStormSandy}

It started snowing at 2:30pm Monday afternoon, October 29th.
The following pictures were taken from 2:30pm Monday afternoon -  9:00am Tuesday morning.

Here's is some random pictures from around the house Tuesday morning.

Dad's pick-up was in the shop getting fixed so that he could put the plow on, so we didn't have anyway to plow the driveways. He didn't go to work on Tuesday....thankfully a neighbor plowed him out so that he could work on Wednesday.

There was a lot of limbs that came down and one of the poor apple trees that Pappy planted was completely uprooted.

We got roughly two feet of snow overall. It's snowed continually the whole time, but some has melted off and it's packed down tighter. Hopefully it all lets up soon!
THANK THE LORD, we were only out of power for about 22 hours - from 4:30pm Tuesday evening to 2:00pm Wednesday afternoon - and we hope that it stays that way!!!
Praying for the people all along the east coast that got hit SO much harder and worse than we did.

{IBA Meeting}

This year at the IBA Fall Regional meeting (held the beginning of October in Saratoga Springs, NY), Dad received a 5-star Sales Recognition Award for 2011!!!! We are all SO proud of him!!

With the President of IBA, Dan Belsito

At the Awards Ceremony - this is an IBA blazer that dad received as an award a few years ago.

There are about four other 1-day IBA meetings
held throughout the year,
and mom usually goes with Dad on these trips.

The Gideon Putnam Resort where the meeting was held.

Congrats, Dad!
We're really proud of all your hard work!

(It's kind of a joke around here that we always like when mom and dad go to a business meeting, because that means there's "only" 5 people in the house, so we won't need to cook dinner!!
Not that I don't like to cook, but everyone needs a break every now and then!)

{Phi Theta Kappa}

Phi Theta Kappa is a National Honor Society for 2-year colleges.
Two-year college students who have completed at least 24 credits
and have maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 are eligible for membership.
Less than 1% of all 2-year college students in the U.S. are Phi Theta Kappans.
There are around 900 students at Garrett College and 23 were
inducted in the society this semester,
Kelley being one of the 23!!!
The induction ceremony took place last Thursday, October 11th.
The words "phi theta kappa" are Greek letters that
 stand for wisdom, aspiration, and purity.

We're very proud of you, Kelley!!!

{A week with Ava}

We had Ava again last week (her third week with us this summer)!
It seemed to speed right by and before we knew it, it was time to take her back.
But we enjoyed having her a lot!! It seems like she has grown so much since the last time we had her....
not just taller, but she seems like such a mature little thing now!!!
She's so sweet and we just love having her!

She spent A LOT of her time here drawing and coloring!!

And of course you need glasses to do that, you know!!

Playing blocks with Kaleb

Kent, your daughter is playing with the same Little People you played with!!!!

Drama Queen!!

Piano lessons from Kaitlyn

Solo

A girl after my own heart.....she loves to iron!!!

It has been SO cold here lately, so we needed hot chocolate after a long time outside!
And you can't have hot chocolate without marshmallows!!

So sweet!

She also spent every minute she could swinging!!
At first, she needed someone to get her started and then she could take it from there.
But after practicing for a few days, she could start all by herself!
She was absolutely thrilled!

Helping me make hamburger patties....

.......and husking corn on the cob!

She call it "corn in a bun" instead of corn on the cob. She totally enjoyed every bite of it too!

She traced all the letters over and over again!

Decorating her balloons with about 100 stickers!!
(Check out that gorgeous hair!)

She figured out how to twist the chains and then.....

....let them go!!!!

Playing in the sand.....making a lot of traffic so people have a hard time getting home!

Gettin' ready to flip!!!

Ava is Blake's idol!! He goes everywhere she goes and does everything she does!
He hasn't been trying to talk much, but he would try to say anything Ava wanted him too, and she was teaching him different signs too! He just loves her to death!

We went to the Library and Ava was SO happy with all the books she got!!

Nana helping Ava make "leaves" by coloring over real leaves.

We love you so much Ava and can't wait until you come back!!!
Thank you, Ashley, for letting us have her again!
